Day twelve: chill day and late night talks

15 oktober 2023 - Antsiranana, Madagaskar

Fridays. Promises a chill day with not much that is on the planning for us forest people. All my roommates slep in, but naturally I was up just as bright and early. After a nice breakfast, doing my own thing, talking to people and saying goodbye to the American family, I decided it was laundry time. So I collected my laundry stuff, including my bed sheets, to find some water and start the process of having clean stuff again.

Afterwards I made some more PADI courses, which are a LOT. I just sat on the floor with the course, with a nice cup of coffee, some cookies and some music. It was good (except the endless loading, I am not made for such patience). Then I went snorkling again for the last time with my french roommates. It was very nice and beautiful again. I decided to take a shower before lunch. Lunch was great, as it was flatbread day and I love the flatbread!!!!

Then after lunch, I did some more PADI and helped camp clean. This time we could do something, me and some others sweeped the kitchen floors and cleaned the area a bit. After some time it was time for camp meeting, which was basically same old. Some highlights were that enough money was collected for Sully (someone who helps the marine project) to take his diving instructor course, which is great! Besides that it was the speeches of the people who were leaving this weekend.

Afterwards I planned on going to Ampang with A, E and S. We were planning on taking the first boat, but it was too full (again), so we took the one after. We went to a hotel in Ampang that has wifi (theoretically) and charging possibilities. We ate some fries there and had a fresh, cold pineapple juice. It was really good! After this, we went to Erics to get some pizza's. We were planning on taking the pizza's back, and have a mamma mia movie night at camp, as A wasn't feeling well all day. But we decided to stay and eat at Eric's. It was nice! No, Ma and especially Sa were really drunk again, they were having fun. We sat and talked for a bit and eventually danced a bit. I officially met another volunteer that helps build a school in Ampoana: Me. She volunteers here and met a South African guy here, who she decided to go back to south Africa with.

The last boat back was at 20u, so we left around that time. The boatride was nice, but very slow, it took so much longer. With bioluminescense again :)

Back at camp I saw No and Ma, so I said goodbye to them, as the would be leaving later tomorrow. After that A, S, E and I sat on the balcony of one of the huts, planning on watching mamma mia. But we ended up talking about what the plot was plotting. It was really nice :) After some time one of the inhabitants of the hut we were at came back. She was pretty drunk and told us some stuff, before going to sleep. A also decided to go to sleep, but S, E and I sat in the dining area. We chatted for quite some time still, it was great. Somewhere quite late K came back and lay with us for a bit, before we all decided to go to bed. Here I met L, who had also just returned. We talked a bit and I saved her from a big bug.
